Our Mission

Why The Welcome Wag Exists

The Welcome Wag started with a simple idea: dogs have an incredible way of bringing people together.

What began as a vision for a dog-friendly taphouse evolved into something bigger: a belief that everyone deserves spaces where they feel welcome, connected, and free to be themselves.

We're creating a community where dogs are celebrated, humans feel at ease, and meaningful connections happen naturally.

What does that look like right now? I’m not quite sure yet.

Maybe it starts with small meetups at local breweries that eventually turn into a recurring set of events. Maybe one day it will be come a taphouse and dog haven.

What I do know is that I want to create a place where people feel welcome, dogs are celebrated, and community happens naturally.

Our long-term vision includes creating opportunities for displaced LGBTQ+ youth and youth who have aged out of foster care, while building a space that embraces diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

For now, we're just getting started. And we're glad you're here.

With a wag,
